GOVERNMENT AT IT'S DUMBEST
Unfortunately using our tax dollars!  HOW IN THE WORLD DID THESE GET INTO THE BUDGET TO BEGIN WITH?

INTERESTING THOUGHT

I LOVE DOING THE LAUNDRY!
Well, maybe love is too strong a word but I don't mind doing laundry at all even when the kids were still living at home. I have 3 piles...dark, whites, and towels (dishtowels, dishrags, and wash cloths included. The bleach in the whites kills all germs so why not?)
I wash a load of clothes almost every day; dark one day, white the next..etc.  I throw them in the washer and off I go.  Then I throw them into the dryer and I'm off once more.  Oh, but then there's the FOLDING AND PUTTING THE CLOTHES AWAY.  That's the job that most people do not care for.  But look at the bright side...your washer and dryer did most of the work for you...so be HAPPY!

▼ To do laundry manually, women had to carry and heat about 50 gallons of water for each load. They rubbed the clothes on ridged washboards, rinsed them in tubs, and wrung them out by hand and hung them up to dry.  What about in the winter's freezing weather?

Need a visual....hope this helps...LOL?

TO MY LONGEST KNOWN FRIEND

Dear J.

I found this at the Thrift today.
And it reminded me of you and me.

This is us in 1964 silly and funny,
regardless of the bad at home.

It is us through divorces,
and relationships gone bad.

It is us through deaths
of family and friends.

It is us during our darkest times
and deepest shared secrets.

It is us although many miles apart
we are close in our hearts.

As the years continue to pass
this doll is a symbol of what we were,
what we are, and what we will continue to be......

Friends that make it possible
to bear the bad and rejoice in the good.

HERE'S TO ANOTHER 47 YEARS!

Kind of neat seeing those old time photos of women doing the laundry.

From the looks of some of them, I wouldn't want to get them angry at me.

Might wind up on my back with a black eye.

That's the kind of friendship to be treasured!! Happy 47 years!

Yeah, I think we would be wearing our clothes a lot longer before washing if I were in charge of the "old ways." LOL!

I go back as far as the scrub board and the wringer washing machine.
That's as far back as I want to go!
Many went to an early death by fire when boiling clothes outdoors in a pot over open flames. :0(

Those long time friendships have a special place in our hearts.
Isn't it The BEST feeling...this Bond!
You have me beat by two years.
I'm in MA and she is now in AK.
Many happy years more to the both of us m/f. (((hugs)))

I think we have it easy now a days as far as washing clothes goes. I have one of those wooden folding wash stands. They are neat, but I'm glad I never had to use it.
