Perennial fall flowers, braided onions, Red ear sliders, fall garden

NEARING THE END OF SUMMER
I can sure tell that autumn is approaching fast. It seems that overnight it's getting colder at a faster rate and many of the perennials are tired and leaning over in readiness of their winter's sleep.

HELENIUM
Sneezeweed one of my favorite late summer/fall flowers. Its "sunny" look attracts all types of bees, spiders, and other crawly things.  It's easy to grow and divide.

ONION HARVEST

I finished pulling out the remaining onions and braided them so they can dry and hang until I need them.

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE POND
A friend of one of our neighbors asked if we wanted to take in a couple of Red Ear Slider Turtles that needed a larger home and I said,  "NO!"  (Off course you don't believe that, right...LOL)

These guys/gals are about 10 inches long and are beautiful.  They are still very shy and I had to take  pictures of them from inside the house because if they even hear a door open or a shadow on the pond they head for the bottom of the pond.

One loves the rock and the other likes to sun itself among the water plants.

AAHHH THE GOOD OLD DAYS

OH, AND DON'T FORGET!
Like this woman....the President's Aunt no less!

Check out her jewelry!

So my question is: why didn't her nephew, THE PRESIDENT"  take care of HIS FAMILY member instead of expecting and making the the taxpaying citizens responsible for this woman who was not even a legal citizen of the U.S. for years!?

Even ULTRA LIBERALS should question this!

I love your pond!!! The turtles look very comfy... My favorite item on the Woolworth menu was their chicken salad sandwich and of course an ice cream soda. Dont even get me started on the pres'es aunt!!! I am glad he is getting such a low % rating. It is about time people are recognizing him for what he is!!! I heard on the radio the other day that all the liberals at a high mucky muck party in the Hamptons were dissing him. That is great news.... Hugs, LJ

Yikes! That spider is huge. But such uniquely shaped petals.

I love the bright yellow color of those flowers. So cheery looking! I bet the turtles are fun to watch.

Hi Carol,
You are cracking me up!
What is not to love about a woman that takes turtles into her peaceful pond?! I love it, and I adore turtles. Your blog calls to me too, are we saying our blogs are corresponding with calling us? Whatever it is I will be back to see what is going on in your neck of the woods. Right now we are having a hot Indian summer. About time I say. Just arrived home from a three week trip on the road with my husband. My plants are definitely calling me, and I go to them.
